Calgary Area Remote Control Auto Racers

Racing in your Blood? Ever wonder what its like to take the checkered flag? Now you can find out, CARCAR is Calgary's only year round on-road remote control racing facility. 1/10th scale cars that feature every dynamic of the real thing but 1/10th the real size. Electric and Nitro vehicles reach top speeds up to 50mph. CARCAR is a non profit organization composed of radio car enthusiasts of all ages, budgets and skill levels. Our goal is to have fun racing on-road remote control cars and to promote the hobby.

Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series for Remote Control Race Cars

Calgary Area Remote Control Auto Racers (CARCAR) is sponsoring this season's Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series, with contestants coming from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the north western United States.

The novel event will feature competitions for remote control cars that are replicas of real cars such as touring cars, world GT and Le Mans style race cars. The 1/10 and 1/12 scale cars that will be featured in the competition include all the tuning options of a modern full size Formula One car.

Contestants have been competing since November, traveling to Edmonton, Lethbridge and Regina and now the series comes to a completion here in Calgary. The top 3 winners in each class will receive a trophy at the end of the weekend.

With racers ranging from ages 5 - 75 yrs, the event aims to generate greater interest in remote control car racing among families and youths, and to foster interaction and bonding of family and youths through such shared interests.

Practice runs are scheduled for Friday, the qualifying will run all day Saturday and Sunday morning, with the Championship following Sunday afternoon.
